Job summary

HDR is seeking a Civil Construction Inspector I in the United States(Arizona) to observe and document civil construction progress, coordinate materials sampling, and ensure compliance with project specs. The role reports to a Senior Inspector and carries full-time duties in a team environment.

Responsibilities include concrete testing coordination, soil compaction testing, and daily progress monitoring. A high school diploma, MS Office proficiency, and a commitment to an employee-owned culture

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelines.
• Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects.
• Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing.
• Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress.
• Perform other duties as needed.
