Job Description

We are seeking a fast-paced, self-motivated, energetic, and results-oriented individual. Please apply if you are self-confident, ambitious, have a positive attitude, and can effectively manage a variety of situations and projects on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Review plans and specifications to understand and summarize the scope of work, determine required equipment and materials to comply with project specifications, and perform takeoffs to confirm quantities and production days.
2. Prepare estimates and quotes within bid timelines.
3. Communicate and follow-up with General Contractors.
4. Solicit material quotes from suppliers and truckers, when required.
5. Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to understand the constructability of projects.
6. Maintain detailed notes in the ACT! database and orderly documents in project files.
7. Conduct hand-off meetings with production personnel to review scope of work, workforce requirements, equipment allocation, work sequence, special requirements, and safety.
8. Review job analysis for costs and profitability.
9. Maintain current customer relations and develop new customers.
10. Deliver in-person presentations or online webinars to engineering/contracting firms.
11. Limited travel to various locations for projects, conferences, and presentations, up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar discipline is preferred but not required.
2. Experience as a Construction Estimator or Office/Field Engineer is required.
3. A minimum of 2 years of field experience on heavy civil projects is required.
4. Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
5. Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office, common contracting procedures, and practices.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
