Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Operator responsible for operating equipment as directed while following Mortenson safety policies and procedures. The role requires adherence to safety regulations, routine maintenance awareness, and the ability to work with diverse teams across projects.

The position emphasizes operating a wide range of heavy equipment and following pre-task plans, with travel as needed to meet project requirements. Exceptional teamwork and customer service skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals and load charts.
• Current driver’s license with required endorsements as needed by law.
• Ability to operate equipment using levers, gears, pedals and steering wheels.
• Willingness to travel per project needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts and other heavy equipment.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Perform routine maintenance, observe equipment operation and detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Willingness to travel per project needs and requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
