Job summary

Byrne & Jones Construction is seeking a Civil CAD Technician to translate design concepts and field data into detailed drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D. You will support engineering, surveying, and field teams to deliver accurate plans and construction documents.

This role requires processing field data, generating surfaces, and ensuring CAD standards while collaborating with engineers and drone operators to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AutoCAD; Civil 3D strongly preferred.
• Civil engineering or surveying background preferred; survey-specific experience not required.
• Strong attention to detail and drafting accuracy.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and field data.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise engineering drawings, site plans, grading plans, and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Process survey field data, drone data, and GPS point files to create maps, surfaces, and drawings.
• Assist with calculating points, alignments, and layouts based on project requirements and design plans.
• Support the development of topographic surveys, boundary exhibits, site maps, and construction layouts.
• Import, clean, and organize point clouds, photogrammetry data, and digital terrain models.
• Coordinate with engineers and survey crews to clarify design intent and resolve data gaps.
• Maintain CAD file structures, layer standards, and templates per company practices.
• Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure drawings meet standards.
