A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CIVIL CAD TECHNICIAN

As a Civil CAD Technician, you are a vital member of our design team. Each day, you will work on site development projects including commercial, industrial, and public works. You will take each project from concept to construction documents, requiring your excellent drafting skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Your responsibilities include detailing site geometry, utilities, grading, drainage, and erosion and sediment control, all while adhering to client specifications and our civil engineering standards.

You will analyze surveys and field notes to identify potential constraints, helping keep projects on schedule and within budget. You will research deeds, ordinances, technical reports, and codes to ensure compliance. You will review redlines and revisions to improve your plans continually.

Collaboration is key; you will work with project managers to update them on progress and resolve challenges. You will also assist the design team as needed. Your rapport with colleagues and your growing AutoCAD skills make this role a perfect fit for you!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CIVIL CAD TECHNICIAN

• 2+ years of CAD experience, a CAD certificate, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• High proficiency with AutoCAD
• Full range of visual depth perception and ability to distinguish colors
