Job summary

Tetra Tech in Houston, Texas seeks a CAD Designer to transform engineering concepts into buildable civil drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D. You will support water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure projects alongside engineers and project managers, ensuring drawings meet client and company standards.

This role offers exposure to pipelines, site grading, drainage, and roadway elements while you apply your CAD skills to impactful community projects in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD Drafting or related field, or completion of a certified Autodesk Civil 3D training program.
• Minimum five years of relevant civil design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil design, including feature lines, grading objects, survey points, profiles, surfaces, and pipe networks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to set up, prepare, and manage construction drawings.
• Prepare dimensional drawings and modify base files using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes.
• Create and maintain electronic file structures and naming conventions in accordance with company standards.
• Prepare project documents from start to finish with professional-quality output.
• Manage multiple active projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Adhere to CAD standards (Tetra Tech or client-specific).
• Work collaboratively on drawings that meet and exceed client requirements during bid and submittal phases.
