Job summary

David Mason + Associates in St. Louis seeks an experienced AutoCAD (Civil 3D) Designer to join our civil team.

You will draft CAD drawings and project documents, review plans, and coordinate with the Project Manager and design team to support education, healthcare, and utility projects. The role includes mentoring technicians, performing basic design calculations, and ensuring CAD/Revit outputs meet company standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit in Civil 3D.
• Experience with Bluebeam document management.
• Ability to perform basic design calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CAD drawings and project documents per standards.
• Interpret markups and update CAD/Revit files per plan review.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and design team.
• Follow schedules and budgets; assign tasks as needed.
• Read and interpret plans, sketches, specifications.
• May assist in training staff and designers.
• Provide QA/QC support for CAD/Revit standards and client requirements.
• Follow DMA safety manuals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Our St. Louis Civil team is look for an experienced AutoCAD (Civil 3D) Designer with previous experience who is ready to jump in and support the team.

Our Designers perform detailed drafting and support activities related to the preparation of plans, specifications, reports, and other documents for engineering projects within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties. Typical advancement is based on the quality performance of essential duties and responsibilities. Discretionary advancement is based on employee’s actions and accomplishments. This position may support the indirect supervision, mentoring, and training of Technicians, and Designers.

Essential Duties

• Prepare CAD drawings and project documents in accordance with company standards
• Interpret drawing mark-ups and update CAD/Revit files based on plan review comments
• Coordinate efforts with Project Manager and overall design team
• Perform specific work assignments in accordance with established schedules and within prescribed budgets.
• Read and interpret plans, sketches, and specifications.
• May support the training of Staff Technicians and Designers as necessary. Including technical design, CAD/Revit skills, overall standards, processes, and DMA procedures.
• May Provide QA/QC support for Technicians and Designers as it relates to CAD/Revit standards and integration and client specific requirements
• Follow and abide by the DMA employee and safety manuals

Required Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit or comparable software.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam or equivalent document management software
• Ability to perform basic design calculations, figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to make design decisions based on technical experience
