Job summary

Trihydro Corporation seeks an entry-level Civil and Water Resources Engineer to join the Infrastructure and Natural Resources Business Unit. You will assist in developing solutions for municipalities, state agencies, and private clients, addressing civil infrastructure and water resource needs.

You will work in multidisciplinary teams to improve water supply, sanitary sewer, transportation, and stormwater systems. The role is full-time, approx.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level civil engineering role with focus on water resources and infrastructure.
  • Interest in civil infrastructure, water and wastewater systems, transportation, and water resources.
  • Becoming professionally licensed (EIT/FE) within 6 months is anticipated.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical research and design calculations.
  • Learn design and modeling software, draft figures, and prepare construction plan sets.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and prepare reports.
  • Support field data collection and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.

Job Summary:
The Entry-level Civil and Water Resources Engineer role is a position within Trihydro’s Infrastructure and Natural Resources Business Unit. As a team member, you will assist with developing solutions for municipalities, state agencies, conservation and irrigation districts, and private clients, addressing civil infrastructure and water resource needs and improvements. Working within multidisciplinary project teams, you will assist in improving infrastructure systems, including water supply, sanitary sewer, transportation, and stormwater systems while supporting the assessment and development of water resources to meet agricultural, municipal, and industrial demands, as well as environmental objectives.

This full-time position requires approximately 40-45 hours per week. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, this opportunity is ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing technical research and design calculations.
  • Learning design and modeling software, drafting figures, and preparing construction plan sets.
  • Performing assigned design tasks, quantity calculations, and construction cost estimates.
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
  • Researching construction materials and contacting/coordinating with construction material suppliers.
  • Preparing technical memorandums, design reports, and permitting applications.
  • Conducting field data collection, performing site inspections and inventories, and performing construction observation, monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • You are a recent graduate, new to civil engineering (minimal to no engineering design experience) and are looking for opportunities to build your technical foundation.
  • You have experience with and/or are interested in civil infrastructure, water and wastewater systems, transportation, and water resources.

  • You are an engineer-in-training (E.I.T. or F.E.) or have plans to obtain your E.I.T. or F.E. within 6 months.
  • You’re experienced in AutoCAD and Civil 3D or related CADD programs (not required, but this experience allows you to hit the ground running).
  • Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SewerGems, GIS or other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software is preferred but not required.
  • You possess strong technical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness; and a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations and other Trihydro offices.
  • You understand the importance of time management and possess excellent organizational skills.

Engineers will focus on the following key performance areas during their first year:

  • Assists with preparation of technical deliverables (e.g., calculations, data collection, analyses, documentation).
