Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an AutoCAD Civil 3D Principal Designer for our Dallas or Fort Worth offices.

The ideal individual should possess a strong background and hands‑on experience in preparing linear drawings, especially for water and sewer infrastructure. This includes comprehensive understanding of grading, site, and yard‑piping plans, and experience with process mechanical piping is highly valuable. Proven track record of collaborating effectively with staff engineers and senior CAD designers is required.

As part of our design team, you will support the design and production of contract documents for various Water, Sewer, Force Main, and Pump Station facility projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare plan & profile, section, and detail drawings for various conveyance infrastructure projects.
• Create site, grading, and yard‑piping plans; perform cut‑fill and bid item quantity calculations.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Senior CAD Designers, and other design disciplines throughout project execution.
• Ensure drawing compliance with Hazen and client CAD standards, styles, and SOPs.
• Incorporate surveys, GIS, and aerial imagery into construction drawings as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a technical school CAD design certificate with emphasis on Civil 3D preferred.
• Basic understanding of pipe materials and fittings, joint‑restraint, and pre‑cast concrete structures.
• Knowledge of standard drafting procedures and formatting.
• 1-4 years of CAD design/drafting experience.
