Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons in Missouri seeks a Civil Construction CAD/Data Prep Specialist to translate civil plans into accurate 3D models, GPS files, and survey staking data for heavy civil projects. This office-based role focuses on data prep rather than drafting, supporting roads, grading, utilities, and site development.

You will build 3D surface and terrain models, prepare staking data for field crews, check model accuracy against plans, and collaborate with survey, PMs, and engineers to resolve

Qualifications

2+ years civil CAD/construction data prep experience preferred.
Background in surveying is valued.
Experience with Trimble Business Center preferred (training provided).

Responsibilities

Build and maintain 3D surface and terrain models for GPS- and Total Station–controlled equipment.
Prepare survey staking files and construction data for field crews.
Convert civil plans into accurate, constructible CAD models.
Perform grade checks and surface reviews for quality control.
Collaborate with Survey, Project Managers, and Engineers to resolve conflicts.
