Job description

Overview

As a Civic/Justice Project Manager at HDR, you will lead the design and delivery of civic and justice facilities—including administrative buildings, public safety structures, courthouses, correctional centers, and jails—while advancing restorative justice architecture and promoting human dignity.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a variety of Civic/Justice related project types, including administrative buildings, public safety, courthouses, correctional centers, jails, and other law‑enforcement related buildings.
  • Lead project teams with varied levels of experience and exposure to Civic/Justice facilities.
  • Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single‑discipline projects and large, complex projects.
  • Independently coordinate work of professional staff and balance the team throughout the entire project’s development.
  • Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
  • Participate in reviews with various governing agencies.
  • Conduct work sessions with other staff.
  • Coordinate workload through entire project development and ensure completion of documents on schedule.
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and adjust work effort with the team to ensure work is completed within agreed‑to schedules.
  • Work with the Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Department Manager for project reviews and with company management as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Experience with justice, juvenile justice, and/or civic facilities.
  • Experience with DCAMM, Chapter 149/149A, and other New England public agencies.
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED.
  • Fluency with using Revit for project documentation and delivery.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite and Microsoft Suite.
  • PMP Certification is a plus.
  • Preference is given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
  • 7 years related experience.
  • Minimum 2 years project management experience.
  • Registered Architect.
  • Must be able to lead a team on projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Good planning and mentoring skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.) {Boston, MA}: $133,980 – $191,400
