Job summary

City of Glendale, CA is seeking a seasoned communications leader to oversee citywide messaging, media relations, and community engagement. The role coordinates internal and external communications, guides branding consistency across departments, and directs Glendale TV Studios operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or English; a master’s degree is desirable.
• Eight years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, community engagement or public relations with supervisory/managerial experience in a union environment.
• Experience managing communications in municipal government is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead citywide communications and community engagement for the City of Glendale.
• Oversee internal/external communications, media relations, and messaging consistency across departments.
• Direct outreach, civic events, and Glendale TV Studios operations; coordinate citywide media relations.
