Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Citywide Teacher - Arts Education to support multiple elementary schools with limited fine arts staffing. You will travel between sites, deliver standards-aligned arts instruction, and align lessons with CPS Arts Education Plan 2.0, while partnering with school leaders and DAE staff.

This 39.6-week role ensures equitable access to arts education, with collaboration, data tracking, and ongoing professional learning as part of the district-wide arts vision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid ISBE teaching certificate/PEL with a fine arts endorsement (Dance, Music, Theatre, or Visual Arts).
• Master’s degree in Arts Education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, standards-aligned fine arts instruction across multiple assigned schools on a rotating schedule.
• Design and implement lesson plans aligned with CPS Arts Education Plan 2.0 and instructional frameworks.
• Collaborate with school leaders and the Citywide Coordinator to support scheduling, readiness, instructional needs, and progress monitoring.
• Participate in professional learning, collaborative planning, and coaching sessions facilitated by DAE.
• Maintain accurate instructional records, student data, and service logs across multiple school sites; communicate with parents/guardians and counsel students on progress.
• Contribute to districtwide arts initiatives, showcases, and arts-integrated learning opportunities.
