Job summary

CityVet Kallison Ranch is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team. The VT will support veterinarians, help ensure high-quality patient care, and improve clinic efficiency by handling technical duties and communicating with clients.

Requirements include a minimum of 1 year in the veterinary field, a high school diploma or GED, ability to restrain animals, and knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age at time of hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to properly and safely restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and medications.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians by prepping patients for surgery, administering anesthesia, taking x-rays, and gathering lab specimens.
• Obtain samples such as stool and blood for testing and help interpret results.
• Administer prescribed medications, vaccines, or anesthesia under the DVM's plan of care.
• Communicate with clients to obtain medical information and provide care instructions.

CityVet - Kallison Ranch is looking for Veterinary Technicians to join our team! A Veterinary Technician Assistant will be considered (with a minimum of 1-year experience).

Compensation is based on experience and education.

Responsibilities

The Veterinary Technician (VT) is responsible for maintaining excellent patient care and operational productivity by helping the Veterinarian leveraging their time and efforts to meet the needs of their clients and patients. The Veterinary Technician works to relieve the Veterinarian from technical work and administrative detail to achieve greater levels of efficiency in daily practice. Veterinary Technicians help facilitate and streamline communication from the operating room to the front office staff and most importantly, the client.

A day in the life:

• Assist Veterinarians - prep patients for surgery (administer anesthesia/take x-rays/gather lab specimen), monitor patients post-op & restrain animals during exams
• Obtain Samples - gather stool, blood, and other samples for testing
• Testing - test the samples gathered and help to interpret the results
• Administer Medications - give patients accurate dosage of prescribed medications, anesthesia, vaccines, or other medications indicated by the DVM
• Client Communication - obtain medical information from the clients and provide the client proper instruction on how to care for the animal under the veterinarian’s plan of care
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age at the time of hire
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience
• Understanding and ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals
• Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching
• Strong organizational skills
• Self-motivated & team-oriented
