Job summary

The City of Santa Rosa is seeking a City Planner to join the Planning & Economic Development team. You will manage a range of planning projects, engage with applicants and residents, and present recommendations to city bodies.

Ideal candidates will have a planning degree, at least one year of professional planning experience, and proficiency with GIS and permit processing systems. Spanish language skills are a plus in serving the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Planning or a related field is required or strongly preferred.
• Minimum of one year of professional planning experience.
• Knowledge of GIS and permitting software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review development proposals and entitlement applications and prepare staff reports.
• Present findings to the Zoning Administrator, Planning Commission, and City Council.
• Coordinate with applicants and City departments to ensure timely processing and customer service.
