Full-time position available with the Office of the City Manager, City Communications Division located at 414 E. 12th St.

Salary Range : $4,619-$6,928 / month

Responsibilities

We are seeking a master wordsmith passionate about visual storytelling. In this role, you will ensure our content is visually appealing and linguistically compelling, contributing to the city's narrative. You will collaborate with content creators and designers to craft engaging stories that resonate with our community.

  • Wordsmith Extraordinaire: Craft, review, and perfect content across our website, marketing materials, and digital platforms, ensuring clarity, consistency, and engagement.
  • Visual Synergy: Work closely with photographers, designers, and motion graphics experts to create imagery that complements your words.
  • Trend Integration: Keep abreast of current content and design trends to keep our communications fresh and engaging.
  • Collaborative Storytelling: Develop campaign strategies with content creators and designers, curating phrases and images to meet objectives.

Qualifications

Requires an accredited Bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional experience in business or public sector administration, including at least 2 years in complex projects or supervisory roles; or an equivalent combination of education and experience with similar responsibilities. Preference given to candidates with experience in copywriting, journalism, communications, or related fields, with a demonstrated obsession for language and storytelling, and experience collaborating with visual teams.
