Job summary

Galveston seeks a Desktop Support Specialist to serve as the first line of contact for City staff, troubleshooting hardware and software, and addressing network issues. You will log and track tickets, document solutions, and support IT policies.

Travel to sites may be required for non-remote issues. The role requires an Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 years of desktop support experience, plus TLETS and CJIS certifications and a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 years IT desktop support experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Requires TLETS and CJIS certifications and Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond to end-user requests and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues.
• Maintain logs of help desk interactions and tickets.
• Travel to locations to address issues not solvable remotely.
• Provide accurate documentation and inventories; support IT policies.
• Coordinate with staff, vendors and other IT team members.
