City Grounds Maintenance & Festival of Lights Laborer

The City of East Peoria seeks someone part-time to work in grounds maintenance to help maintain over 70 properties throughout the City. This is a year-round position. From March through September, this position performs a variety of grounds maintenance including but not limited to push mowing, zero-turn mowing, weed pulling, tree trimming, brush cutting, raking, trash/debris removal throughout the City. This position will also help set up and tear down any special events during the summer months. Some evenings, weekends, and holidays will be necessary. From October through February this position transitions to helping with the Festival of Lights, with set up and tear down of the Winter Wonderland Park. Will also assist with any Festival special events, snow removal, and other shop duties as assigned during winter months. Must be able to obtain CPR/AED certification within the first 90 days of employment. A background in working with various outdoor equipment and tools is preferred. Must be willing to work in the outdoor elements year-round.

Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License and successfully pass a background check and drug screen. Part-time benefits for certain qualifying positions can be seen in related documents.
