Job summary

The City of Union City is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to support the upkeep of City buildings and grounds. This role performs building maintenance tasks and coordinates with contractors to ensure timely repairs and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, cleaning, minor electrical/plumbing work, and setting up spaces for City meetings and events. A valid Georgia driver’s license and four years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of building maintenance experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid State of Georgia driver’s license.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains appearance and cleanliness of City facilities.
• Works with contractors for building maintenance.
• Receives and completes work orders for maintenance.
• Performs basic electrical and plumbing work.
• Sets up meeting rooms for City functions.
• Evaluates HVAC units in City buildings.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs to facilities.
• Cleans and maintains facilities including floors, windows, and furniture.
• Moves heavy furniture and equipment as needed.
• Sets up and dismantles furniture and equipment.
