Project Partners is seeking an experienced engineer for a part-time, on-site role in Garden Grove, CA. The position spans approximately 25 hours per week and focuses on providing City Engineering support for a variety of municipal public works projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong municipal engineering background, prior supervisory experience, and excellent communication skills to manage projects and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and city staff.

• Assist with street lighting, traffic, transportation, and other municipal programs.

Job description

Project Partners is seeking an experienced engineer, part-time, to provide City Engineering support. The position is on-site in the Garden Grove, CA area, working approximately 25 hours per week. This position will provide professional engineering support for a variety of municipal public works projects, including project planning, design review, project management, team oversight, and coordination with consultants and other agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in municipal engineering, prior supervisory experience, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage public works projects and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Projects may include: Roadway Improvements Stormdrain Rehabilitation Traffic Synchronization Development Plan Review.

As an Engineer in this role, the duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Support the planning, design, coordination, and management of public works and civil engineering projects.
• Oversee the preparation and review of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, contract documents, and project reports.
• Evaluate infrastructure needs, review engineering studies, and recommend projects for local, state, and federal funding opportunities.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and public agencies, including administering professional services agreements and construction contracts.
• Assist with street lighting, traffic, transportation, and other municipal engineering programs.
• Collaborate with City staff, provide technical guidance, and participate in meetings and presentations with City Council, public agencies, and community stakeholders.
