Job summary

The City of New York, Mayor's Office, is seeking an Events Manager within the Office of Mass Engagement (OME) to plan and execute engaging events that demystify government and strengthen connections with everyday New Yorkers. You will coordinate logistics, manage partners and volunteers, and shape guest experiences in collaboration with faith and community liaisons.

The role emphasizes organized, customer-service oriented, and creative problem solving qualities, with a focus on building trust

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• An Associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities.
• Four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent approved by a state's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question "2" above.
• A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions "1," "2," and/or "3" above.
• 3+ years of experience

Responsibilities

• Producing purposeful, engaging events that build people's trust in government, build connections between New Yorkers, and create meaningful opportunities for feedback and follow-up.
• Leading event logistical production including location and vendor sourcing, agency production partner coordination, expense tracking, and project management.
• Managing Event Leads, seasonal interns, and volunteers as required.
• Supporting the development of a thoughtful and personalized guest experience in coordination with OME's Faith & Community Liaisons, including invitation management, guest list cultivation, relationship-building activities, and on-site hospitality.
• Other duties as required.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

Associate degree + 2 years experience

High School Diploma + 4 years experience
