Job summary

The City of Odessa seeks a communications leader to plan, coordinate, and direct the City's marketing, public information, and branding efforts. You will develop timely information about services, coordinate public records responses, and manage internal and external communications with city departments and officials.

You will serve as the City Spokesperson and Emergency Public Information Coordinator during local emergencies, supervising staff and aligning programs to city goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field.
• Five years' increasingly responsible experience in journalism, communications, or public relations.
• Public sector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct the city's communications, public information, marketing, and branding.
• Develop and distribute accurate, timely, and accessible information about city services.
• Coordinate responses to public information requests and media inquiries.
• Serve as City Spokesperson and Emergency Public Information Coordinator during emergencies.
