Job summary

Pitt Ohio is hiring a Class A City Driver for our Marcy, NY location. You will deliver general freight, load and secure cargo, and operate under DOT and company safety standards. The job requires interstate driving experience (or education-backed equivalent), a valid CDL, and endorsements.

A DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen are required, along with background checks. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years of verifiable interstate driving experience or one year with a diploma from an approved driving school.
• Must pass Pitt Ohio driving test administered by an approved trainer.
• Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements required within 90 days for most drivers.
• Only one valid driver’s license issued by resident state; provide prior licenses if applicable.
• DOT physical examination required; pre-employment drug screen mandatory.
• No prior MVR suspensions or serious violations in specified windows.
• Consent to a 10-year work history check and background disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Drive a commercial vehicle safely to pick up and deliver general freight.
• Load/unload freight; use equipment where available.
• Perform frequent lifting and carrying of freight.
• Secure freight as needed with straps or other methods.
• Inspect vehicle for defects and safe operation; maintain records as required by law.
• Comply with federal regs on hazardous materials; operate within hours of service rules.
• Maintain logs and other records; follow company policies and safety procedures.
