Oklahoma Municipal League, Inc. seeks a City Attorney in Lawton to provide legal counsel to the City, prosecute crimes and handle civil litigation. The role requires drafting legal documents, advising city officials, and guiding compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

The attorney will supervise the City’s legal department, manage budgets, and coordinate with state and federal agencies. A JD, Oklahoma bar admission, and residency in Lawton are required.

Formación

• Graduation from ABA-accredited law school; JD degree.
• Admission to practice law in Oklahoma; membership in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar.
• Must become resident of Lawton prior to employment.

Responsabilidades

• Manage and supervise City legal department; plan workloads and staff.
• Prepare complex cases for trial and represent City in courts and agencies.
• Provide leadership in short/long-range legal planning; coordinate with other departments.
• Advise City Council, City Manager and department heads; present to boards and public.
• Draft ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds, leases and other legal documents.
