Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Citrix Engineer for an onsite Jersey City, NJ contract role. The position focuses on designing and maintaining scalable VDI architectures using VMware Horizon and Citrix Cloud, with strong PowerShell automation for provisioning and maintenance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in VDI, VMware Horizon certification, and knowledge of security best practices. Compensation is $48-$50 per hour on a 6+ month contract with onsite benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in VDI management focusing on VMware Horizon and Citrix Cloud.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for VDI environments.
• VMware Certified Professional Desktop certification.
• Nice to have: Citrix Certified Associate Virtualization and Microsoft Certified Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable VDI infrastructures for geo-spatial applications.
• Administer VMware Horizon environments to provide stable desktop sessions and optimize resources.
• Configure and manage Citrix Cloud deployments for responsive access to mapping apps.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts for VDI provisioning and maintenance.
• Monitor VDI performance and address degradations; perform root-cause analysis.

Immediate need for a talented Citrix Engineer. This is a 06+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Jersey City, NJ (Onsite).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain scalable virtual desktop infrastructures that support geo-spatial applications, ensuring reliable access for enterprise users.
• Administer VMware Horizon environments to provide stable desktop sessions and optimize resource utilization.
• Configure and manage Citrix Cloud deployments for responsive access to mapping applications while adhering to performance and security standards.
• Develop and maintain robust PowerShell automation scripts to streamline VDI provisioning and routine maintenance tasks.
• Monitor end-to-end VDI performance metrics, proactively identifying service degradation and implementing corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot complex incidents in VMware Horizon and Citrix environments, driving timely root cause analysis and remediation.
• Implement strong access control and security procedures for VDI components hosting geo-referenced data.
• Document environment architectures and standard operating procedures to support consistent operations.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate mapping and spatial data requirements into VDI capacity plans.
• Perform impact assessments for VDI platform upgrades, ensuring continuity of critical workloads.
• Provide day shift operational support for incidents and service requests, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
• Analyze incident trends and propose targeted improvements to reduce future disruptions.
• Guide junior staff through knowledge-sharing sessions focused on PowerShell and VDI best practices.

• 5+ years of experience in VDI management with a focus on VMware Horizon and Citrix Cloud.
• Proficiency in PowerShell automation for VDI environments.
• VMware Certified Professional Desktop certification.
