Job summary

Citizens Bank in Beacon, NY is seeking a Customer Service Associate to greet customers in lobby, assist with mobile app and ATM transactions, and create exceptional experiences that help customers reach financial goals. You will guide them toward personalized solutions and connect them with Bankers for next steps.

This role emphasizes product knowledge, adherence to financial policies, and strong listening and communication skills to build lasting relationships and support community banking.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 months of transactions processing experience.
  • Minimum 1 year customer experience; recommending and referring products/services.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify needs and develop long-term relationships.
  • Ability to follow policies and handle cash.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in lobby and assist with transactions.
  • Demonstrate mobile app and ATM usage for transactions.
  • Provide personalized financial advice and solutions; connect customers to Bankers.
  • Educate customers on Citizens products and benefits.
  • Follow all financial policies; ensure proper cash handling and regulatory compliance.

Starting Salary: $21 / hour and up

What you'll do

You’ll greet our customers in our lobbies. You’re comfortable enough with technology to demonstrate how to use our mobile app, or our ATMs, to complete simple transactions. You’ll create amazing experiences for our customers, looking for opportunities to help them achieve their financial goals by providing personalized advice and solutions that meet their needs, and connect them to our Bankers for the next step. Your knowledge of Citizens products and benefits will educate customers, and allow you to effectively respond to questions and/or concerns. All financial policies and procedures will be followed, including proper cash handling, state and local laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications
  • High School degree or GED
  • Minimum of 6 months experience processing transactions (cash and/or digital payments)
  • Minimum of 1 year demonstrated customer experience, recommending and referring products and services to customers
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively ask questions and identify needs to enhance and develop a long‑term customer relationship
  • Ability to problem solve and provide solutions to customer issues
