Northern Jet is seeking an experienced Second-in-Command pilot to support operations on our Citation XLS, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role offers exposure to a mix of Part 91 and Part 135 missions, flying premium business jets with a focus on safety and client service.

Typical duties include operating flights under Part 91/135, ensuring FAA compliance, and supporting a dynamic operations team. The position includes competitive pay, bonus opportunities, and a culture of professionalism

Qualifications

• 1,500 total flight time.
• 100+ multi-engine time.
• Current 1st Class Medical.
• No accidents, incidents, or warnings within the past five years.
• Thorough knowledge of corporate aviation and international procedures, including operations in Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Maintain an impeccable professional appearance at all times.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Successfully pass a drug screening test.
• Clear a comprehensive background check.
• Must possess a valid drivers license and maintain a clean driving record.

Northern Jet is seeking experienced Second-in-Command pilots to support operations on our Citation XLS. Pilots will receive a Citation XLS type rating. This role provides the opportunity to fly a diverse mix of Part 91 and Part 135 missions while operating premium super-midsize and large-cabin aircraft within a growing private aviation operation.

Competitive Pay and Incentives

• Base salary of $86,250, with total compensation of over $105,000+ first year
• Daily and annual pay incentives, including:
• Scheduled Day Off (SDO): $800 for SIC.
• Holiday Pay: $800.
• Additional roles (e.g., Standardization Captain, Instructor) offer bonuses up to $20,000.

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan (or within 2 hours)

Schedule: 8 days on 6 days off

This position is specifically aligned to Northern Jet’s Citation XLS, offering SICs the opportunity to gain valuable experience across highly capable business jet platforms while supporting a broad range of domestic and international missions. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced SIC seeking a dynamic and well-rounded flying environment within a growing private aviation company. Pilots in this role will gain valuable experience conducting a mix of both Part 135 and Part 91 operations while flying approximately 450+ hours annually, providing consistent utilization and meaningful time in aircraft. About this Role

As a Second-in-Command supporting Northern Jet’s Citation XLS, with lots exposure to a variety of aircraft, mission profiles, destinations, and client needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As second-in-command, you will operate flights under both Part 91 and Part 135 on-demand, ensuring the seamless execution of missions while maintaining full compliance with FAA regulations related to flight operations, duty hours, and pilot qualifications. You will follow company procedures for reporting any discrepancies with the aircraft during flight or ground operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing administrative tasks as assigned by company management.
