Job summary

Obsidian Security is seeking a visionary CISO to lead our internal security program and act as the security voice for customers and partners. You will report to the Chief Legal and Trust Officer and shape strategy across people, processes, and technologies.

Responsibilities span risk management, secure product design, AI governance, and compliance, with a focus on scalable security programs and executive-level communication to protect our growing SaaS platform and global customers.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in information security with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience building and scaling security teams across product and enterprise risk.
• Strong track record securing cloud-native SaaS environments.
• Experience developing AI governance frameworks and familiarity with AI/ML attack surfaces.
• Customer-facing security executive experience in sales cycles and audits.
• Proven ability to present to boards and communicate security posture.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute a global security strategy aligned with business growth.
• Lead cyber risk program, assessments, vendor reviews, and mitigations.
• Build and lead teams spanning product security, infrastructure protection, and threat detection.
• Establish enterprise AI governance and risk mitigation for AI use.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage the security budget.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, and IT in a matrixed environment.
