Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Cisco Network Engineer for a hybrid, 12-month contract based in Cincinnati, Ohio. You will implement, test, and support Cisco routers, switches, SD-WAN, and security across critical infrastructure in the Midwest.

The role requires strong Cisco expertise, routing/switching fundamentals, and the ability to work both independently and within an Agile engineering team. 12 months with potential extension or full-time hire is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience configuring, implementing, or supporting Cisco routers and switches.
• Solid understanding of IPv4, subnetting, TCP/IP, VLANs, Spanning Tree.
• Knowledge of OSPF and BGP and enterprise WAN concepts.
• Ability to troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues using a structured approach.
• Experience with network automation and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Configure, implement, test, and support Cisco routers, switches, wireless APs per standards.
• Deploy SD-WAN solutions and manage WAN edge routers and policies.
• Support WAN modernization across SD-WAN, MPLS, and internet connectivity.
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, SD-WAN, and firewall policy issues.
• Create and maintain network drawings, diagrams, and installation/test plans.
