Alabama State University invites applications for the Chair, Associate/Full Professor of Computer Information Systems. The Chair serves as the chief academic and administrative officer for the department, providing strategic leadership while fostering excellence in teaching, research, and service.

The position oversees operations, faculty development, curriculum innovation, budgeting, and partnerships, with responsibilities spanning teaching, research, and service in alignment with AACSB

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems from an AACSB-accredited business school.
• 5 years of full-time collegiate academic experience in Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems.
• 3 years of academic administrative experience in a collegiate setting.
• Rank of Associate or Full Professor in a CIS/MIS department.
• Basic knowledge of proposal writing and grant administration.

Responsabilités

• Teach assigned courses and address learning outcomes.
• Develop and deliver course curricula and syllabi.
• Advise students on degree requirements and career goals.
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate department faculty and staff.
• Oversee departmental budgeting and fiscal planning.
• Foster industry partnerships and grant development.
• Participate in governance and policy discussions.
