Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, invites an experienced Circulator RN to join our PRN pool in the operating room. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and nursing staff to ensure safe perioperative care and patient flow.

RNs participate in preop assessments, patient education, and intraoperative support while maintaining patient safety and adherence to protocols. On-call duties apply during select hours, with competitive benefits and professional support.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse Diploma.
• RN license/registration in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team with providers and surgeons.
• Apply the nursing process with critical thinking to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition and document changes during shift.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up.
