Role Description

The Circulating Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in Woodsville, NH, working in the operating room and perioperative areas. This role coordinates and manages patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring that the surgical team has the necessary supplies, equipment, and information. Daily responsibilities include verifying patient identity and procedure details, maintaining aseptic technique, documenting care, monitoring the patient’s condition, and advocating for patient safety and comfort. The Circulating Nurse collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and other clinicians, supports patient and family education, and participates in quality improvement, infection control, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to assess patient status, respond to changes, and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Proficiency in Surgical Nursing and Operating Room practices, including patient preparation, intraoperative support, and post-procedure coordination.
• Experience or training in Perioperative care, covering pre-op assessment, intraoperative monitoring, and post-op recovery processes.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Hampshire (or eligibility to obtain), and BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and strong documentation abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for extended periods, and safely assist with patient positioning and transfers.
• Previous operating room or perioperative nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred; familiarity with rural or critical access hospital practice is a plus.
