Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Dallas, TX is seeking a Circuit Card Design Engineer to lead high‑performance FPGA processing card development, from requirement capture through test and qualification, collaborating with PLD/FPGA, software and mechanical engineers.

You will drive supplier activities, perform SI/PI analysis, ensure MIL-STD compliance, and support production readiness while delivering on schedule and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university.
  • Extensive experience with circuit card design, integration, and test across multiple domains (digital, power, analog, FPGA/SoC).
  • Experience with developing and refining system requirements, including performance, interface, and environmental requirements.
  • Experience interpreting complex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies.
  • Experience in missile level architecture development from concept through SRR.
  • Experience leading a team to advance missile development through flight demonstration within 4 years.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier technical activities for a subsystem.
  • Oversee full product life cycle: design development, milestone reviews, SDRL concurrence, Functional Acceptance Test, Design Verification Test (DVT), and environmental qualification (MIL STD 810, MIL STD 464).
  • Coordinate Functional & Physical Configuration Audits and Production Readiness events.
  • Report risks/concerns to Program Manager and Chief Engineer; liaison to resolve supplier issues.
  • Partner with government counterparts as Lockheed Martin’s subsystem representative.
  • Drive innovative, affordable, schedule focused solutions while upholding mission and safety requirements.
  • Capture requirements and perform detailed schematic design for a high-performance FPGA processing circuit card.
  • Design and support layout of high-speed digital interfaces, including high pin‑count BGA routing.
  • Perform or support signal- and power-integrity analysis for high‑speed digital and power circuitry.
  • Support design verification, bench checkout, and integration testing of the circuit card.
  • Collaborate with PLD/FPGA, software, and mechanical packaging engineers.
  • Document designs and support change control per standard engineering release processes.
