Position Summary

Schedule: Mon - Fri, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Hourly Rate: $20.50 ($19.00/hr + $1.50/hr 3rd shift differential pay)

This CIP Technician position is responsible for performing routine cleaning and sanitation of production areas, maintaining supplies, tools and equipment. This job will also maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse, support areas and outdoor premises.

An ideal applicant will be highly skilled, consistently punctual and enjoy working with a variety of individuals who share similar values and goals.

General Duties/Responsibilities
  • Maintain the facility and the surrounding area in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's) and Food Safety Standards.
  • Detailed sanitation and up-keep of the facility, ensuring that all processing equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized according to our Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
  • Work in a safe manner and comply with all site safety practices including, but not limited to, LOTO, chemical hygiene, and PPE requirements.
  • Operate cleaning equipment including but not limited to: floor scrubbers, portable tank foamers, pressure washers, and Cleaning in Place (CIP) skid system.
  • Rinse, foam, scrub, and sanitize production equipment per SSOP's ensuring that all areas meet standards of acceptability.
  • Responsible for hand cleaning production equipment, may require some disassembling and reassembling.
  • Shadow QA Lab team members during pre-operational inspections to ensure no deviations were noted that may require additional attention.
  • Perform chemical titrations prior to use to guarantee efficacy.
  • Log CIP's and various MSS activities on Sharepoint and ensure all critical parameters were met.
  • Keep work areas and equipment neat, clean, and properly stored.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required by the Manager.
Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities
  • Follow GMP policy when in the production facility and encourage your team to do the same.
  • Understand our SQF policies relating to pest control, visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and sanitation.
  • Demonstrate awareness of Management's Commitment to SQF and work towards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet this commitment.
  • If there is a problem that involves food quality and safety, report to the Quality Assurance Manager Manager so that the CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) log may be filled out, the situation be investigated, and resolved with the goal of continuous improvement of food quality and safety.

  • Ability to start role on the current shift M-F, 10:00am-6:30pm, and be able to change to 2nd shift in early 2025 (shift start time TBD but will be in the early afternoon), with eventual permanent transition to 3rd shift as production demand ramps up
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; advanced degree preferred
  • 1 year minimum of sanitation experience preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), SSOP's, GMP's, and Food Safety preferred
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
  • 30 minute unpaid lunch break; Two 15 minute paid breaks
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs
  • Routine exposure to chemicals requiring strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols
  • Standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching and crouching, climbing up/down stairs and ladders, and routinely needing to be in physically demanding positions
  • Must be able to work at heights that are above ground level using a scissor lift or ladder
  • Ability to work in a crowded, noisy manufacturing environment, and be able to navigate extremes in temperatures
