Job summary

City of Pittsburgh Parks and Recreation is seeking an AV Event Technician to support the Cinema in the Park series and concerts. Duties include setting up, testing, operating, and troubleshooting audio equipment on-site, and assisting with event logistics.

The role requires the ability to transport equipment, assemble heavy gear, and adapt setups to achieve proper sound levels. This position supports ongoing Office of Special Events staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with audio equipment is preferred.
• Ability to set up, test and operate audio-visual gear.
• Willingness to perform other event-related tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Acts as primary staff for Cinema in the Park series.
• Sets up, tests, operates, troubleshoots, and deconstructs audio-visual equipment for events.
• Drives department box truck and/or cargo vans as needed.
• Assists with transporting audio equipment and supplies for events.
• Assists in setting up event sites in addition to audio needs.
• Lifts and assembles heavy items such as speakers and podiums.
