Locations

The Chautauqua Cinema offers a summer-long festival of acclaimed feature films, independents, art films, and classics. The indoor facility is located in Higgins Hall, with outdoor screenings in select locations on the grounds. Refreshments are available for purchase.

Compensation

Starting at $15.50/hour, with potential to earn up to $17.00/hour based on experience and qualifications.

Work Responsibilities
  • Greeting patrons, answering questions, operating cash registers, processing payments, and managing sales records at the box office and concession stand.
  • Providing general information about Chautauqua Institution.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, including light housekeeping duties.
  • Assisting with posting cinema information and setting up displays.
Referral Program

Earn a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for referring a new hire who remains employed for at least 90 days (or 30 days for seasonal positions).

Work Schedule

Flexible full or part-time schedules during summer, typically averaging 25 hours/week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Housing

Limited on-site housing may be available; otherwise, candidates are responsible for their own housing arrangements.
