Job summary

Qualifications

3+ years of Central Office telecommunications installation experience.
Hands-on experience installing Ciena 6500 optical transport systems.
Experience with RLS equipment, ROADM shelves, amplifiers, and related components.
Knowledge of DWDM networks and fiber optic infrastructure.
Experience with DC power (-48VDC), grounding, bonding, and alarm wiring.
Ability to read engineering drawings and installation documentation.
Familiarity with Telcordia, NEBS standards, and Central Office installation practices.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and organizational skills.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in active telecom environments.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

Install and integrate Ciena 6500 optical transport platforms and related hardware.
Install and configure RLS equipment including ROADM shelves and WSS components.
Perform DC power terminations, grounding, bonding, and alarm wiring per standards.
Route, terminate, and test fiber, copper, and coaxial cabling and manage cables.
Install jumpers, trunk fiber, patches, and cable management with proper bend radius.
Read engineering drawings, MOPs, and installation packages; document work.
Support turn-up activities by verifying fiber continuity, alarms, and power readiness.
Conduct quality inspections and update red-line drawings; maintain inventory records.
Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with engineering and network ops.
Maintain OSHA safety compliance and adherence to customer installation standards.
