Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Critical Care Nursing Lead for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). The CN will coordinate care on designated shifts, providing leadership to staff and ensuring patient outcomes align with Kentucky Nurse Practice Act guidelines.

Qualifying candidates hold an active Kentucky RN license, have 2+ years of critical care/acute care experience, and meet BCLS and ACLS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Nurse Manager with operational activities of the unit.

SummaryJob Description:Full Time 36 weekly hours, night shift - three 12-hour shifts 7P-7A & every third weekendSign On Bonus eligible for experienced Critical Care Nurses!Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) – 3rd Floor 4002 BuildingThe CICU is a 10 bed critical care unit specializing in cardiac, intensive level care. Patients with severe heart diseases such as severe CAD, AMI, post arrest, cardiomyopathy, and arrhythmias that need continuous monitoring will be cared for on this unit. Assistive devices, including balloon pumps, impellas, and temporary pacemakers, as well as invasive monitoring devices like SWANs and a-lines are common on CICU. The CICU typically staffs with a one or two nurse to patient ratio to provide critical care. The patient population ranges from adults through geriatrics. BCLS and ACLS are/will be required. New graduate nurses are welcome.Job Summary:The CN is an entry-level management position responsible for thecoordination of care on designated shifts. He/she will provide leadership tothe staff members of the unit in the area of patient care.A) As a Registered nurse, he/she implements the nursing process for eachpatient regardless of age (i.e. infancy to geriatric) assigned to his/her careand is responsible for the patient’s care within the parameters of theKentucky Nurse Practice Act. The charge nurse promotes positive patientoutcomes, quality of care and initiates change through active involvement inunit-based and hospital shared-governance councils.B) National Professional Nursing Standards serve as guidelines for thecharge nurse as he/she utilizes critical thinking skills and exercisesappropriate nursing judgment. The charge nurse will collaborate with amultidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
