About the Program

The Environmental Science and Resource Management (ESRM) Program is an interdisciplinary, field‑ and lab‑intensive program that integrates natural and social sciences to prepare students for leadership in environmental problem solving. ESRM emphasizes hands‑on learning, applied research, and community engagement across diverse ecosystems from coastal and marine environments to watersheds and urban systems.

About the Position

We seek qualified applicants to teach undergraduate lecture, laboratory, or field courses in environmental science, resource management, geomorphology, hydrology, land use, GIS, remote sensing, or related disciplines. Assignments may include introductory or upper‑division courses depending on program needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geography, Geology, Conservation Biology, Environmental Studies, Data Science, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the college or university level.
• Commitment to student‑centered, inclusive pedagogy that supports diverse learners.
• Demonstrated ability to teach within the interdisciplinary framework of environmental science and resource management.
• Ability to engage with a broad student population and provide mentorship that supports academic success.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Hydrology, Earth Science, Data Science, GIScience, or a related discipline.
• Experience teaching laboratory or field‑based environmental science courses.
• Professional or applied experience in environmental monitoring, climate systems, coastal or watershed management, or GIS applications.
• Demonstrated commitment to community engagement, experiential learning, and equity in higher education.

• Prepare course materials, deliver engaging instruction, and assess student learning.
