Job summary

DeWys Metal Solutions is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer level 1 to work on the manufacturing floor, identify better ways to work, and drive lean initiatives. You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to improve processes, equipment flow, and new product launches.

This role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, data-driven improvements, and sustainable changes across multiple teams on the production floor in Marne, MI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
• 0–3 years of manufacturing, engineering, or related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with SolidWorks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities and turn them into improvements that enhance safety, simplicity, and efficiency.
• Improve plant layouts to optimize product movement and flow.
• Evaluate equipment needs and develop manufacturing aids and tooling.
• Analyze production data to improve efficiency, utilization, and scheduling.
• Support lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, and sustainable improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain for new products.
