Job summary

Adient plc West Point Facility in the United States is seeking a Six Sigma professional to lead and execute process improvements in automotive seating. You will form project teams, apply DMAIC methods, and deliver cost, quality and time objectives set by leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Identify key individuals for team membership and secure their availability.
  • Provide basic Six Sigma training to project team members.
  • Apply Six Sigma tools and techniques to measure, analyze, improve, and control project processes.
  • Report on project progress to Champion and leadership levels at least weekly or monthly.
  • Prepare detailed plans to track project performance and assure timely completion and savings goals.
  • Identify barriers to project success and solicit help from Champions when needed.
  • Document improvement learnings and share best practices with other Black Belts.
  • Identify and bring forward new project opportunities.
  • Participate in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and 8D process for root cause analysis.
  • Ensure safety audits are complete for you and your team.
  • Report accidents, illnesses, and environmental emergencies, alerting supervisor to conditions affecting others.

Summary

Using Six Sigma methodology leads project teams to deliver project cost, quality and time objectives established by the champion and his/her respective business unit executives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identifies key individuals for team membership and secures their availability directly or with the assistance of their champion.
  • Provides basic Six Sigma training to project team members.
  • Six Sigma tools and techniques apply to measure, analyze, improve, and control project processes.
  • Reports on project progress to Champion and other appropriate leadership levels at least weekly/monthly.
  • Prepares detailed plans to track project performance and assure timely completion and achievement of quality and savings goals.
  • Identifies barriers to project success and solicits help from Champions when needed.
  • Attends required training and acquired needed skills.
  • Documents improvement process learning's and shares best practices with other Black Belts.
  • Identifies and brings forward to Champion new project opportunities.
  • Actively participates in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process in order to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required.
  • Ensure required Safety Audits are complete for you and your team.
  • Reporting accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, and inform supervisor of known HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect other team members, assets or to the public.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and ensures safe working procedures in assigned production areas.
Qualification Requirements
