Description
About the role

As a Church Partnerships Manager, you’ll play a vital role in growing Compassion UK’s impact by building strong, meaningful relationships with churches in your region. You’ll engage church leaders and congregations through inspiring presentations, helping them connect with our mission to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

With a focus on sponsorship growth and fundraising, you’ll work collaboratively with our Events, Engagement, and Philanthropy teams to maximise opportunities and deepen partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maximise the number of child sponsorships from within your designated area from churches and local events.
  • Work collaboratively across Compassion UK to effectively meet objectives.
  • Actively maintain and promote Compassion UK’s Christian ethos and values.

The successful candidate will have:
Strong networking skills, with a proven ability to build relationships within the Church and Christian events space.
A deep understanding of church leaders, with empathy for the Church and its leadership.
Confidence in public speaking, including experience preaching in churches.
Sales or fundraising experience, with a track record of lead generation, relationship management, and meeting acquisition targets.
Willingness to work weekends, attending church services or events (around 24 activities per year).
Self-motivation and strong time management, especially when working independently and managing a varied workload.
Solid administrative and IT skills, fluent in English and proficient in tools like Microsoft Office.
Personal committed to the Christian faith. There’s an occupational requirement for the holder of this role to be a practising Christian, in order to promote Compassion’s ethos and help others to experience, explore and express the faith-based motivation of our work. It would be beneficial (although not mandatory) to possess:
  • To have used a CRM or similar system.
  • Experience managing/ supporting volunteers.

Additional requirements:

  • Regular Travel. You will need to be willing and able to undertake regular UK as well as occasional overseas travel.This will be subject to a maximum number each quarter / year as agreed with the Director of Church Partnerships.
  • A full driving license with a car available to use for work (mileage expenses paid).

The post holder should reside in the South West of England, within approximately 60 minutes' travel to Exeter.
