Job summary

Yale School of Public Health seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor for Tenure or Educator Scholar Tracks in Chronic Disease Epidemiology. The appointee will build an externally funded research program using epidemiologic methods to address major chronic diseases and social determinants across the lifecourse.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in epidemiology or a related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Prior record of independent funding and high-impact publications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an externally funded independent research program focused on addressing major chronic disease causes of death and disability.
  • Apply rigorous epidemiologic methods including measurement, causal inference, data science and AI, and creation of novel data sources for epidemiologic research.
  • Publish and present research results in peer-reviewed journals and disseminate findings to scientific, clinical, policy, and community audiences.
  • Contribute to the growth and impact of the educational mission, including teaching at masters/doctoral level and mentoring students.
  • Foster collaborations and strengthen interactions with other schools across campus.
  • Provide service aligned with the YSPH Strategic Plan and Yale priorities.
