Job summary

Brite Nites is hiring seasonal Lighting Technicians for the 2026 season in San Diego, CA. You’ll install Christmas lighting on homes and commercial buildings, often on ladders or roofs, in 10+ hour days during peak season. Training is provided and housing assistance may be available for out-of-area candidates.

Pay ranges from $1,200–$1,800 per week, full-time seasonal schedule. Applicants should be comfortable with heights, weather, and physical outdoor work; prior lighting experience is not

Qualifications

• Physical outdoor work experience preferred (landscaping, construction, etc).
• Comfort with heights and variable weather conditions.
• Punctuality and reliability; ability to complete assigned tasks.
• Ability to work well in a 2-person team with minimal supervision.

• Install Christmas lighting on homes and commercial properties.
• Work on ladders and roofs up to 32 ft; occasional tree work or cherry pickers.
• Hang, clip, and staple light strands along rooflines, trees, and structures.
• Operate in 2-person crews serving residential clients.
• Possible takedown work through January/February (not guaranteed for all hires).

We're currently hiring seasonal Lighting Technicians for our 2026 season.

About the role

What the work is actually like (read this carefully):

• You’ll be outside all day in cold, rain, and sometimes snow
• 10+ hour days, 6 days a week during peak season
• You’ll be on ladders and roofs daily — if you’re not comfortable at heights, this isn’t the right fit
• The work is physical — climbing, carrying equipment, repetitive overhead work
• The season is compressed: ~3‑4 months of intense work (potential for extended season)

Pay: $1,200 – $1,800 per week depending on experience and role

Schedule: Full‑time seasonal, training starts September 2026

Training: Provided — no prior Christmas lighting experience needed
