The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division in Chicago seeks a Christmas Driver to provide transportation and coordination for kettle season. You will help maintain equipment, log routes, and ensure safe handling of monies while fostering positive relations with staff and donors.

This is a seasonal, non-exempt position reporting to Corps Officers. A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 1 year of related experience in a delivery/driver role.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
• Clear TSA MVR check or equivalent background check.

Responsabilités

• Transport Bellringers and kettles to and from sites.
• Maintain equipment and ensure Bellringers are clean and presentable.
• Coordinate with Corps Officers on disciplinary matters.
• Log drop off and pick up times on route sheets; have Bellringers sign-off.
• Conduct periodic site checks to ensure Bellringers are working.
• Assist with daily counting of monies as needed.
• Secure monies at all times.
• Assist with Angel Tree Toy pickup as needed.
• Ensure compliance with procedures related to assignments.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position reports to the Corps Officers. In contacts related to this position’s duties, this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.

This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.

Education/Experience

• High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 1 year’s related experience with a good knowledge of the area.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
• Clearance of TSA MVR check.
