Job description

ChristianaCare, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare, is actively recruiting an academic Primary Care Physician to join as Clinical Faculty in its largest resident teaching practice in Wilmington, Delaware. This unique position will have a particular focus on the individualized care of medically and socially complex patients with extra emphasis on care coordination.

Internal Medicine and Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Physicians are encouraged to apply!

Position Highlights

  • Join Delaware's premier health system and provide care to a diverse, multi-cultural population representing all ages

  • 7 sessions per week of clinical care including private panel and the potential for resident precepting

  • 3 sessions per week for educational, population health, care coordination, interdisciplinary meetings and administrative work

  • Smaller patient panel size to balance the increased intricacies involved in the care of a more complex patient panel

  • Extended appointment duration times to support multi-disciplinary appointments

  • Support with dedicated Behavioral Health, PharmD, Social Work and Care Management services

  • Teach and evaluate Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, EM/IM residents and medical students in the health system's largest teaching practice

  • Participate in resident didactics as part of the ambulatory academic half day

  • Mentor resident quality improvement and clinical initiatives

  • Participate in faculty development sessions

  • Help improve outcomes of our highest health care utilizer patients
