Job summary

First Presbyterian Day School in Jackson, MS is seeking dedicated teachers for 2nd through 6th grade who will teach in a Bible-based, Christ-centered environment. The position is full-time for a normal two-semester year and reports to the Upper School Principal.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree (education preferred), experience teaching elementary students, and the ability to integrate Christian faith with academics while maintaining a positive, engaging classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Education or related field).
• Experience teaching elementary school students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Google Classroom, Google Docs, and FACTS is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Reflect the overarching Christian mission in instruction and activity.
• Teach 2nd–6th grades with biblical integration and high expectations.
• Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans and monitor student progress.
• Maintain a positive, engaging classroom environment and safety.
• Collaborate with staff and participate in FPDS activities as needed.
