Who We Are Looking For

We seek gospel-minded men and women aged 18 and up to serve at our sites in the DFW metroplex. As a Christian Summer Day Camp Counselor, you'll be part of our Skylark family, with opportunities for community, personal growth, and discipleship. The ideal candidate is teachable, humble, and loves to have fun! Working at Skylark means being a fun, exciting example of God's love, engaging in activities that reveal Jesus to campers.

Christian Summer Day Camp Counselor Requirements

• Attend mandatory Summer Staff Orientation and Training Week
• Commit to serving at least 6 weeks, with prior approval for time off
• Work on-site Monday through Friday, 7:00am-5:30pm
• Model Christ-like attitudes and actions
• Participate in team activities and Bible studies
• Dependable transportation is required
• Be able to stay on your feet and participate in high-energy activities
• Lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs
• Work indoors and outdoors, sometimes in extreme heat

Summer Staff Responsibilities

• Lead and shepherd campers physically, emotionally, and spiritually
• Follow daily schedules and manage camper activities
• Support program activities and enforce rules
• Assist with camp setup and cleanup
• Ensure safety and provide quality instruction
• Follow health and safety regulations and report incidents
• Use TBRI principles for discipline and communication
• Maintain communication about camper well-being
• Hold one-on-one conversations with campers
• Other duties as assigned
