Calvary Christian Academy seeks a Teacher Assistant to support the classroom teacher in all capacities, helping to disciple students spiritually, academically and socially. The role involves supervising students, assisting with lesson preparation, and coordinating with staff and volunteers in a faith-centered school environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to specified professional dress.
• Provide childcare for staff/CCA children on PMD days and staff meetings.
• Supervise students during seatwork and provide personalized assistance.
• Assist with behavior management and academic support for struggling students.
• Provide prayer and godly counsel to students in need.
• Supervise class while teacher conducts small groups and assist specials teachers.
• Escort children to/from classes and meals; monitor playground and cafeteria.
• Observe and assess academic progress and spiritual maturity; report to teacher.
• Record and grade homework; prepare folders and materials for lessons.
• Assist in directing parent volunteers and maintain an orderly classroom.
• Supervise children at morning drop-off, lunch, and afternoon pick-up.
• Assist in orientation, planning days, meetings, and all-school events.
• May serve as substitute teacher or office assistant as needed.
• Serve as greeter for conferences when required.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the teacher.
