Summary

Position: PRESCHOOL LEAD TEACHER

Objective:

Provide leadership in creating a caring, engaging, and Christ-centered classroom environment that supports the development and well-being of infants and preschool-aged children.

Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of your classroom, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Design and implement a developmentally-appropriate curriculum that nurtures children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth.
  • Integrate Biblical principles into everyday lessons and activities, teaching children about God’s love and His creation.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and clean classroom environment where children can thrive.
  • Supervise and guide Assistant Teachers, providing support and mentorship as they assist in classroom activities.
  • Foster open communication with parents, offering insights into their child’s progress and ways to extend learning at home.

Main Duties and Tasks:

  • Plan and lead daily devotions, prayers, and Christ-centered activities that align with the preschool’s mission.
  • Monitor and assess children’s developmental progress, keeping detailed records and communicating with parents about their child’s growth.
  • Guide children in their social, emotional, and spiritual development, providing positive reinforcement and encouragement.
  • Maintain discipline in a caring and constructive manner, creating a positive learning environment.
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times, following best practices for early childhood education.
  • Lead curriculum planning and collaborate with the Assistant Teacher to create a well-rounded and dynamic program.
  • Stay current with new developments in early childhood education and Christian teaching, participating in professional development opportunities.
  • Support and participate in staff meetings, training, and preschool-wide initiatives.
  • Create a classroom environment that encourages creativity, exploration, and a love of learning, while fostering each child’s individual strengths.
  • Assist with maintaining records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with preschool policies.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves
  • Early childhood credentials or willingness to obtain
  • CPR/First Aid training
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education
  • Prior experience working in early childhood education, including leadership or supervisory roles
